Dark Place

The side of me
You'll never see
That I refuse to show

The darkness inside
That I always hide
That side that only I know

The part that always haunts me
That I refuse to let you see
Because of what's inside

A place so filled hate
A hatred oh so great
A place that I must hide

A place where I'm my enemy
And hatred is all towards me
A place that no one knows

I know that if it were revealed
My life would change and my fate sealed
As my self hatred grows

I don't want things to change
To a life so very strange
Where I'm not trusted with a knife

Because of this I hide it
So that no one looks inside it
So I can keep my simple life
